Universal Music Group Distribution, UMG’s sales and marketing arm, has promoted Candace Berry to exec VP-g.m. of Universal Music Distribution.
Previously exec VP of sales and marketing at the company, Berry reports to UMGD prexy-chief exec Jim Urie.
Long one of the top female execs in music distribution, Berry will now take an expanded role in managing UMGD’s physical and digital distribution businesses, helming sales efforts with such key accounts as Apple, Amazon, Walmart, Best Buy, Target, Vevo and Rhapsody.
She will also continue to oversee the company’s sales and marketing teams.
Before joining UMGD, Berry was head of sales at UMG’s Interscope Geffen A&M group.
She was previously VP of sales at Zoo Records and served at BMG Distribution national marketing and Arista Records regional sales.
