Decade of Difference honored Clinton Foundation
“Bill, I’m having my first real Marilyn moment,” Lady Gaga said to former President Clinton after wishing him a belated happy birthday at the Hollywood Bowl on Saturday. “I always wanted to have one, and I was hoping that it didn’t involve an accident with some pills and a string of pearls.”
Gaga took the stage for A Decade of Difference, an evening honoring the 10th anni of the William J. Clinton Foundation.
At one point, Gaga stepped down a catwalk to sing directly to the president, telling the aud that if someone had told her years ago that she’d get to serenade the Clintons personally, “I wouldn’t have believed them.”
The evening was headlined by a performance from Bono and the Edge, or as Bono put it, “One half of U2. The tall skinny guys. The good looking ones.”
During his perf, Usher tore the inseam of his pants exposing his thigh. The wardrobe malfunction didn’t stop the performer, though, and Ellen DeGeneres made light of it after saying, “Sorry I’m late. I found a rip in my pants and I had to stitch it real quick.”
The Clintons spent little time onstage, preferring to remain in the aud. Gaga implored, “I wish you were playing sax with me, baby.”
