Plenty of bling at Grammy Brunch
They wore red ribbons on Saturday at the Sunset Tower Hotel, but it wasn’t to show solidarity with a new cause. This red ribbon symbolized a 2011 Grammy nomination, as ASCAP’s rhythm-and-soul department celebrated its own at the second annual Grammy Brunch.
There was plenty of bling in the house. Drumma Boy and the Legendary Traxster wore weighty gold-and-diamond studded necklaces that twinkled in the sunshine on the packed terrace.
“Gotta make sure people know it’s me,” joked Traxster, who is responsible for the nominated song “My Chick Bad,” featuring Ludacris and Nicki Minaj. And he seemed ready to take on some new vocal talent as he schmoozed with Goapele and Kat Graham.
Other nominees like Jaheim, Eric Roberson, Kuk Harrell and Chuck Harmony indulged in the classic brunch spread of bacon, eggs and croissants, and everyone on hand made sure to have a moment with ASCAP prexy Paul Williams.
