U.S. music streaming service Rdio has announced the expansion of its service to Brazil, expected to go live by the end of the week.
Dubbed Oi Rdio, the service is launching in a partnership with Brazilian telco Oi, which claims a customer base of 67.1 million. The venture comes on the heels of the company’s launch of a free tier in the U.S. last month.
Oi Rdio will offer two paid tiers, plus a seven-day free trial. Appropriately, the service will also feature a larger selection of Brazilian music, with Rdio having forged licensing agreements with Som Livre, DeckDisk and OiMusica, among others.
Rdio is currently active in the U.S. and Canada, and has also revealed plans to launch the service in Germany and Australia by early next year.
