Ole Clear buys MusicBox

Canadian publisher nabs production music house

Ole Clear, the production music branch of Canadian music publisher Ole, has acquired L.A.-based production music company MusicBox.

Creating and controlling 17 production music libraries comprising more than 24,000 tracks, MusicBox was started in 2002 by composers Joel Goodman and Daniel Stein, with composer and former Universal Music Production Library creative director Jonathan Firstenberg coming onboard as senior VP in 2010.

MusicBox’s staff will remain and advise Ole on matters related to its libraries.

Ole CEO Robert Ott said in a statement: “Joel and Dan have created a great company at MusicBox. We take seriously our responsibility to continue the legacy of great customer service and creative at MusicBox and will work hard to bring clients and sub-published companies an unrivaled experience.”
