Metal’s Big Four announce Indio concert

Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth and Anthrax to play the week after Coachella

Metal’s “Big Four” — Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth and Anthrax — have announced their lone U.S. concert date, to be held April 23 at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, site of the Coachella and Stagecoach festivals.

Promoted by Goldenvoice, the gig falls on the weekend between rock fest Coachella (April 15-17) and country hoedown Stagecoach (April 30-May 1).

Heavyweight foursome played seven successful European dates last year, which became a major live theatrical event and DVD.

Tickets for the Indio show, priced at $99 and $199, go on sale Jan. 28 via Ticketmaster.
