David Arnold to receive BMI kudo

Composer to be feted at Film and Televison Awards

Composer David Arnold will be presented with the Richard Kirk Award for career achievement at the BMI Film & Television Awards. Ceremony will take place May 18 at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel.

A recipient of 10 BMI film music awards since 1995, Arnold composed the Grammy-winning “Independence Day” score and is noted as the only composer since the late John Barry (also a Rickard Kirk recipient) to score multiple James Bond films, including Grammy and BAFTA nominated “Casino Royale.”

Past recipients of the Richard Kirk lifetime achievement kudo include John Williams, Lalo Schifrin, Mark Mothersbaugh, Danny Elfman, George S. Clinton, Alan Silvestri and Alan Menken.
