Corbijn to helm Coldplay livecast

Oct. 26 concert will mark the latest 'Unstaged' band-director pairing

In Vevo’s latest pairing of a name director and major band, Anton Corbijn will direct a live Oct. 26 webcast of a Coldplay show in Madrid.

The British band’s set at the Plaza de Toros de Las Ventas is the latest presentation in “American Express Unstaged,” a partnership with Vevo and YouTube.

Online event streams two days after release of Coldplay’s fifth studio album “MYLO XYLOTO.” Capitol Records act has sold more than 50 million albums worldwide.

Director Corbijn, who helmed the actioner “The American” and the Joy Division biopic “Control,” got his start as a rock photog in U.K. music newsweeklies.”Unstaged” has previously linked up top-flight directors with chart-topping acts: Terry Gilliam with Arcade Fire (on the inaugural webcast), Spike Lee with John Legend & the Roots, David Lynch with Duran Duran and Todd Haynes with My Morning Jacket.
