Hot producer Alex Da Kid, who helmed major hits by Eminem and B.o.B. in 2010, is getting his own imprint via Interscope Records.
First release on the KIDinaKORNER label will be a solo debut by singer-songwriter Skylar Grey, featured on three recent Alex Da Kid productions: Dirty-Diddy Mone’s “Coming Home,” the Dr. Dre-Eminem pairing “I Need a Doctor” and Lupe Fiasco’s “Words I Never Said.”
The producer (real name Alexander Grant) took home a best rap album Grammy this year for his work on Eminem’s 2010 smash “Recovery”; he produced the rapper’s hit single “Love the Way You Lie.” He also helmed B.o.B.’s hit single “Airplanes,” which featured Paramore
’s Hayley Williams.
He most recently produced “Rise Above 1,” initial single from the album “Music From Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark,” at the behest of Bono and the Edge of U2, who have penned the score for the titular Broadway musical.
