Francois Ozon’s “Potiche” and remake-bound “Love Crime” are among the contempo French films lined up for the 2011 edition of Rendez-Vous with French Cinema, the annual series from Film Society of Lincoln Center and Unifrance Films.
Rendez-Vous screening reps the Gotham preem of “Potiche,” the Music Box Films pic that stars Catherine Deneuve and Gerard Depardieu. Kristin Scott Thomas topliner “Love Crime,” tapped for a remake by Brian DePalma, is part of a tribute to late helmer Alain Corneau.
Also on the fest’s slate of 21 films is Catheine Breillat’s “The Sleeping Beauty,” Benoit Jacquot’s “Deep in the Woods,” Bertrand Tavernier’s “The Princess of Montpensier” and Claude Lelouch self-portrait “From One Film to Another” (paired with a public conversation with Lelouch).
Films will screen at the Film Society, IFC Center and BAM Cinematek. Rendez-Vous is set to run March 3-13.
