Korean Telecom to show 50 Indian films
LONDON — Korean Telecom has pacted with Bollywood studio Eros Intl. to show 50 titles from Eros’ 2,000 film library on IPTV, mobile and Internet platforms.
Korean Telecom’s IPTV subsid Olleh TV will show recent hits including “Yamla Pagla Deewana,” “Houseful” and “No Problem.”
The deal is part of Eros’ recent strategy to exploit non-traditional markets for Bollywood. In August, Eros struck a 100-film carriage deal with Myanmar broadcaster Family TV, teamed with Japan’s Atrium Prods. to release Tamil-language blockbuster “Endhiran,” and also launched 30 titles in the Romanian DVD market.
