Prize honors best first-film in main sections
PARIS — The Cannes Film Festival has tapped Korean helmer-scribe Bong Joon-Ho as jury president of the Camera d’Or.
The Camera d’Or honors the best first film presented in Official Selection, Critics’ Week or Directors’ Fortnight.
Bong’s “Tokyo!,” which he co-directed with Michel Gondry and Leos Carax, and “Mother” played in Un Certain Regard in 2008 and 2009, respectively.
Bong will award the Camera d’Or during the closing ceremony on May 22.
