Zach Braff behind ‘New’ play

Show to begin Off Broadway run in June

A new play by Zach Braff, “All New People,” will get an Off Broadway bow at Second Stage Theater.

Multihyphenate appeared as an actor last summer in the Paul Weitz play “Trust.” The world preem of “All New People” will be helmed by Huntington Theater a.d. Peter DuBois, who directed both “Trust” and the well-received staging of “Becky Shaw” that played Second Stage in 2009.

Storyline of “People” centers on a thirtysomething man whose intended solitary retreat at a summer vacation hotspot in the middle of winter is complicated by the unexpected presence of other people.

Braff (“Scrubs”), who wrote and directed 2004 film “Garden State,” will next be seen on the bigscreen thesping in drama “The High Cost of Living,” to be distributed by Tribeca Film.

Cast and other creatives for “People” remain to be nailed down. Show will play Second Stage in a run that begins previews June 28 ahead of an opening night that has yet to be skedded.
