LCT3 show scores Off Broadway stint

Lincoln Center Theater’s current LCT3 production of “4,000 Miles” is moving on up, skedding a berth on the org’s main Off Broadway stage next season.

Amy Herzog’s play, now running at the Duke on 42nd Street, will be re-mounted as part of the nonprofit’s regular 2011-12 season, with a spring 2012 stint at the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater on the Lincoln Center campus.

“4,000 Miles,” which also will extend its current run through July 9, is produced by LCT3, the Lincoln Center Theater initiative that showcases work by up-and-coming creatives in smaller-scale productions.

Play, which recently opened to generally good reviews, centers on a 21-year-old who goes to live with his grandmother in New York. Daniel Aukin directs a cast that includes Mary Louise Wilson, Gabriel Ebert, Greta Lee and Zoe Winters.

The spring staging of “4,000 Miles” begins previews March 15 ahead of an April 2 opening.
