Broadway docs to screen in Times Square

The American Theater Wing and the Broadway League, the orgs behind the Tony Awards, are set to launch a film series that screens backstage Broadway docs in the weeks leading up to the legit kudocast in June.

Series slate includes “Finding Billy,” about the casting search for kid thesps to play the title role in the “Billy Elliot” tuner; “Every Little Step,” chronicling the audition process for the recent revival of “A Chorus Line”; and “Show Business: The Road to Broadway,” a behind-the-scenes look at the 2003-04 season.

All screenings will be held free of charge at the Times Square Visitors Center, with post-screening talks set to include producers and creatives from film and legit. Screenings launch May 9 with “Finding Billy.”
