Taper to preem Rebeck’s ‘Poor Behavior’

Comedy to replace playwright's 'Novelist'

The Mark Taper Forum is swapping out Theresa Rebeck’s “The Novelist” with her new dark comedy “Poor Behavior,” which will have its world premiere Sept. 18.

Directed by Doug Hughes, the play will be in previews Sept. 7 and close Oct. 16. Comedy, set in a country house, revolves around two marriages and adultery.

CTG artistic director Michael Ritchie said, “I’m a fan of Theresa’s work and was looking forward to working with her on ‘The Novelist’ but we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to produce the world premiere of her newest play.”

While the play has not yet been cast, it features set design from Catherine Zuber, lighting by Ben Stanton, and sound design by David Van Tieghem.
