“Pippin,” the 1970s Broadway tuner smash with a score by Stephen Schwartz (“Wicked”) and book by Roger O. Hirson, will be revived at London’s Menier Chocolate Factory.
Previews begin Nov. 22 ahead of a Dec. 7 opening.
The original 1,944-performance Broadway run was a signature work of director/choreographer Bob Fosse. The new production will incorporate Fosse’s choreography, but will be directed by Mitch Sebastian, who launched his directorial career with a production of the show in 1997 at the now-defunct off-off West End venue the Bridewell.
Designed by Timothy Bird and lit by U.S. designer Ken Billington, the production is skedded to run until Feb. 25.
Casting has yet to be announced.
