Jim Parsons and Lee Pace have joined the cast of the Broadway staging of “The Normal Heart.”
Parsons (“The Big Bang Theory”) and Pace (“Pushing Daisies”) play activists Tommy Boatwright and Bruce Niles in Larry Kramer’s 1985 drama about the early years of the AIDS epidemic. Thesps join a cast that already includes Ellen Barkin, Joe Mantello and John Benjamin Hickey.
Both Parsons and Pace make their Main Stem debuts in the show.

, production was inspired by a benefit reading of the play last year, also directed by Grey and starring Mantello and Hickey.
A last-minute addition to the theater season, “Normal Heart” kicks off its 12-week stint on the boards April 19 ahead of an April 27 opening.
