Leguizamo's one-man show opens in Gotham
John Leguizamo’s friends, family and colleagues turned out en masse at the Lyceum Theater for the March 22 opening of “Ghetto Klown.”
It’s the actor’s fifth one-man show; in this one, Leguizamo traces his performing career, from his boyhood in Queens to movie gigs opposite A-listers.
“I wanted to make it funny as hell,” Leguizamo said. “But I also wanted to do something you’ve never seen in a one-man show — what I can do in a movie when I drop that clowning shit.”
At the Standard Hotel after-party, Leguizamo shared war stories with Eric Bogosian regarding their mutual co-star Steven Seagal.
