Theater department adds names to roster
Bob Martin, Felix Barrett and Chris Boal are among the legit creatives who have recently joined the roster of the theater department at CAA.
Martin, one of the creators of theater-centric Canuck skein “Slings and Arrows,” picked up a Tony for tuner “The Drowsy Chaperone” and penned the book for holiday offering “Elf,” while Brit helmer Barrett made a splash in Gotham last season with “Sleep No More,” the dance-installation theater event inspired by “Macbeth.”
Boal, whose play “23 Knives” was seen in Gotham in 2009, has recently picked up screenwriting gigs for an untitled Julius Caesar epic and an untitled Viking pic starring Alexander Skarsgard, both at Warner Bros.
Also joining the legit fold at CAA are Rinne Groff, whose play “Compulsion” had a run Off Broadway earlier this year; Daniel Goldfarb (“Martin Short: Fame Becomes Me”), whose latest, “Cradle and All,” was played at Manhattan Theater Club; and Jacquelyn Reingold (“String Theory”), currently a co-producer on NBC’s upcoming Broadway-centric series “Smash.”
