'Man and Boy' preems at American Airlines Theater

Helmer Maria Aitken first revived Terrence Rattigan’s 1963 play “Man and Boy” six years ago in London to great success. At Sunday’s Broadway preem at the American Airlines Theater, she remained equally upbeat and intrigued. “Passing your son off as a rent boy is still quite shocking,” Aitken said.

Indeed, star Frank Langella resisted any urge to make his character more contempo, since “greed and how people who stand high on those pedestals will always fall” never needs updating.
