Works U.K. takes ‘Shelter’

Pic won Cannes Critics' Week prize

LONDON — The Works U.K. Distribution has snapped up all Brit rights to Jeff Nichols’ thriller “Take Shelter.”

Pic, which preemed in Sundance earlier this year and won the Cannes 2011 Critics’ Week grand prize and Fipresci award, will have its U.K. preem on Friday at the BFI London Film Festival.

Pic, starring Michael Shannon and Jessica Chastain, centers around a father who is plagued by apocalyptic visions.

Nichols penned and helmed the script while Tyler Davidson and Sophia Lin produce.

The Works is planning a nationwide release for the pic on Nov. 25.
