WB dates ‘Rock of Ages,’ ‘Jack’

New Line pics set for 2012 summer release

Warner Bros. has dated a pair of New Line projects for its summer schedule next year, giving release dates of June 1, 2012 to “Rock of Ages” and June 15, 2012 to “Jack the Giant Killer.”

“Rock of Ages,” an adapation of the musical, will go up against Universal’s untitled comedy from Judd Apatow based on characters from “Knocked Up.”

“Jack the Giant Killer,” also produced by Legendary, is a twist on the “Jack and the Beanstalk” story. It’s lined up against Sony’s Adam Sandler comedy “I Hate You, Dad.”

Warners announced nearly a year ago that it had set Christopher Nolan’s “The Dark Knight Rises” for July 20, 2012.
