Festival unveils 2011 lineup

Christine Vachon will be honored as part of the opening-night event of NewFest, Gotham’s longstanding LGBT film festival.

Full slate of the fest includes world preems of feature “Turtle Hill, Brooklyn” and docs “(A)Sexual,” “Our Lips Are Sealed” and “One Night Stand,” a backstage account of Broadway’s annual “24 Hour Musicals” event.

Also on tap are Gotham preems of Tom Twyker’s “3″ and Sheldon Larry’s “Leave It on the Floor.”

Indie producer Vachon scores the fest’s first Visionary Award, honoring a body of work that includes “Poison,” “Go Fish,” “Velvet Goldmine” and “Boys Don’t Cry.” She’ll receive the kudo prior to the screening of fest opener “We Were Here,” about the early years of AIDS in San Francisco.

NewFest runs July 21-28 across a variety of venues including the newly opened facility of Film Society of Lincoln Center, where “We Were Here” and closer “Gun Hill Road” will screen.
