‘Untouchable’ to close San Sebastian fest

Weinstein Co. has rights in several territories

The world premiere of French comedy “Untouchable” will close the 59th San Sebastian Film Festival.

Co-written and co-helmed by Eric Toledano and Olivier Nakache, “Untouchable” is based on the true story of a quadriplegic aristocrat and the immigrant ex-con he hires as his caregiver.

Pic toplines Francois Cluzet (“Little White Lies”) and Omar Sy (“Micmacs”). Casting also includes Clotilde Mollet (“Amelie”) and Josephine de Meaux (“So Happy Together”).

The Weinstein Co. has taken distribution rights on the film in North America, the U.K., Australia, New Zealand, Scandinavia, South Africa and China. France’s Gaumont has sold the pic worldwide.

The Weinstein Co. also has rights to co-finance and co-produce an English-language remake, teaming with Gaumont and original producers Quad Films. Adolfo Blanco’s A Contracorriente Films distributes the film in Spain. The fest runs Sept. 16-24.
