U picks up ‘Gone’ for Platt to produce

Tough guy pic is written by Bryan Edward Hill

Universal Pictures has acquired the original screenplay “Gone” penned by Bryan Edward Hill.

Marc Platt will produce through his Marc Platt Production banner with Christopher Pratt exec producing.

Plot details are being kept under wraps but a source close to the production has described it as a “don’t mess with this guy” type of movie.

Exec VP of production Scott Bernstein and development exec Tara Case will oversee the project for U.

Platt also produced FilmDistrict’s “Drive,” and insiders say “Gone” has a similar feel to that pic.

Hill is repped by ICM, Element Entertainment and attorney Jeremy Tenser.
