Tribeca Film will launch a new VOD label, Tribeca/EPSN Sports Film Festival On Demand, as an extension of the partner orgs’ programming component of the Tribeca Film Festival.
The VOD label, a subset of the overall Tribeca Film VOD lineup, will kick off with three docs that played Tribeca earlier this year. It will also feature a narrative film set to be released by Tribeca, a doc that’s made the rounds of the festival circuit and selections from ESPN’s docu series “30 for 30.”
Alums of the 2011 fest to be made available include Alex Gibney doc “Catching Hell,” which bowed earlier this year as part of the Tribeca/ESPN Sports fest and will air on ESPN in the fall, as well as West Indian cricket team docu “Fire in Babylon” and “Renee,” about transsexual athlete Renee Richards. Comedy “Turkey Bowl,” hitting theaters in a limited Tribeca Film release June 3, also joins the lineup of pics to be available June 23-Aug. 25.
“Boys of Summer,” the fest vet about a Caribbean Little League team, becomes available July 21.
