Morgan Spurlock and production company Warrior Poets have bought the naming rights to the town of Altoona, Penn. for 60 days as the latest promo stunt for Spurlock’s product-placement documentary “Pom Wonderful Presents: The Greatest Movie Ever Sold.”
Starting April 27, Altoona will be temporarily known as Pom Wonderful Presents: The Greatest Movie Ever Sold, Penn. Naming-rights coin received by Altoona will be used by the town’s police department. A proclamation ceremony in Altoona April 27 will be followed by a screening of the film. Sony Pictures Classics has skedded an April 22 limited release, to be expanded in subsequent frames.
