Spurlock snags naming rights to Altoona

Morgan Spurlock and production company Warrior Poets have bought the naming rights to the town of Altoona, Penn. for 60 days as the latest promo stunt for Spurlock’s product-placement documentary “Pom Wonderful Presents: The Greatest Movie Ever Sold.”

Starting April 27, Altoona will be temporarily known as Pom Wonderful Presents: The Greatest Movie Ever Sold, Penn. Naming-rights coin received by Altoona will be used by the town’s police department.

A proclamation ceremony in Altoona April 27 will be followed by a screening of the film. Sony Pictures Classics has skedded an April 22 limited release, to be expanded in subsequent frames.
