Tongue tied and test tubed

Hathaway, Sturgess pic 'One Day' preems in Europe

Talent from “One Day” disembarked at London’s fittingly pink and frilly Westfield shopping center for pic’s European preem Tuesday.

Upon arrival, helmer Lone Scherfig expressed her excitement that the Focus Features pic was “coming home,” with everyone involved buoyed by the considerable Brit fan base for the bestselling novel.

Leads Anne Hathaway and Jim Sturgess were supported along the red carpet by Rafe Spall and Jodie Whittaker, as well as the novel and pic’s scribe, David Nicholls.

When asked of the infamous “chemistry test,” on which the two leads were examined prior to shooting, Hathaway graded herself, “It’s the best I’d done at chemistry in my life!”

During the pic’s introduction, Nicholls was prompted to make a speech, but instead he pulled the mic smoothly from his jacket pocket, explaining, “I’ve been trained not to speak in cinemas,” and left it at that.
