His showbiz career started late in life

Tom Ferguson, who had roles in films including “Bikini Drive-In,” died Jan. 18 in Woodland Hills, Calif., of heart failure. He was 65.

Ferguson’s showbiz career started in 1993 with “Dark Universe,” a direct-to-video movie. Besides “Bikini Drive-In,” in which he played a bounty hunter, he portrayed a sheriff in “Bikini Hoe-Down.”

Many of his films were direct-to-vid, including “Bikini Hoe-Down,” “Biohazard: The Alien Force,” “Masseuse 2″ and “Rapid Assault.” “He was a B-movie character actor,” according to his friend, Tina Dupuy, who described him in her blog as “the consummate redneck sheriff.”

Survivors include a son and a daughter.
