Event will welcome German films and industryites

This year’s Dubai Film Festival will include a special focus on Germany, following previous spotlights on France, Mexico and Italy, the fest announced at the Berlinale.

It will present German films and talent and bring Teutonic producers, distributors and studios to meet colleagues in Dubai and the Arab world. Program sponsors include the Goethe-Institut, German Films promotion board and the Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg funder/film commission.

Dubai fest chairman Abdulhamid Juma said in a statement, “The Arab world, and the UAE in particular, shares a thriving relationship with Germany across domains from education to exports.”

The eighth Dubai fest runs Dec. 7-14.
