Quentin Tarantino will receive the inaugural Music+Film Award at the Critics’ Choice Movie Awards on Friday night.
New kudo reflects the director’s extensive use of source and soundtrack music in his films, most recently in “Inglourious Basterds.” Other pics in which the helmer has used music abundantly include “Pulp Fiction,” “Reservoir Dogs” and the “Kill Bill” films.
Rock group Maroon 5 will perform on the show as a tribute to Tarantino.
The Critics’ Choice Movie Awards will be telecast at 9 p.m. on VH1 and held at Hollywood Palladium. Both VH1 and MTV will air a red-carpet special an hour earlier. Winners are determined by 250 members of the Broadcast Film Critics Assn.
