Screen Gems has cast Michael Ealy and Taraji Henson in its big-screen adaptation of comedian Steve Harvey’s book “Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man.”
Pic, titled “Think Like a Man,” follows the romance between a dreamer with culinary talents, played by Ealy, and a high-powered ad exec, played by Henson.
Cast joins Kevin Hart, who plays the role of a soon-to-be-divorced, self-professed relationship expert who doles out advice to the couple.
Tim Story will direct from a script by Keith Merryman and David A. Newman.
Will Power will produce under his Rainforest Films banner with Harvey set to exec produce along with Rushion McDonald and Rob Hardy.
Screen Gems aims to start production this summer.
Harvey’s book has sold more than 2 million copies worldwide since it came out in 2009. Tome is a humorous love guide for bridging the differences between the sexes for successful relationships.
Ealy previously appeared in Tyler Perry’s “For Colored Girls,” “Takers” and “Seven Pounds.” Henson’s credits include “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” and she’ll appear in Universal’s summer release “Larry Crowne.”
The Gersh Agency, Epidemic Management and Ziffren Brittenham rep Ealy while Vincent Cirrincione Associates reps Henson.
