Sundance Institute sets L.A. benefit

Fitz and the Tantrums to perform at June event

The Sundance Institute will host its first Los Angeles benefit June 8 at Franklin Canyon Ranch in Beverly Hills. Evening will include a performance from Fitz and the Tantrums.

“As an integral part of both filmmaking and nonprofit arts communities in Los Angeles, it is wonderfully fitting for us to celebrate Sundance Institute here with our supporters, friends and neighbors,” said Sundance Institute exec director Keri Putnam. “And while for years we have opened the doors of our Utah home, it’s exciting for us to host a benefit in our L.A. backyard for the first time, and to be able to involve so many of our established alumni, and emerging new artists.”

Programs due to benefit from funds raised include the Institute’s feature film, docu, theater, film music and Native Lab programming. Sundance alums including Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Cholodenko, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Jon Hamm, Brit Marling, Paul Rudd, Mark Ruffalo and Quentin Tarantino serve on the host committee for the event. Benefit tickets, from $500-$1000, include a cocktail reception, dinner and performance.
