Portman, Reitman, Kutcher attend post-preem bash
HollywoodIvan Reitman was feeling lots of love — and a little regret — at Par’s preem of romantic comedy “No Strings Attached” at the Village on Tuesday night. “It was a great joy and a great struggle,” the director-producer told the audience. “I hope hearing this is not as painful for you as it is for me.” Reitman credited Natalie Portman for committing three years ago to the project, adding, “She deserves all the kudos that she’s getting.” During the post-preem bash at W Los Angeles’ Whiskey Blue, Reitman admitted he had erred by omitting a thanks for screenwriter Elizabeth Meriwether. “Isn’t that typical for the director to forget to thank the writer?” he asked. “I’ve got to find her to apologize, because what she did really was the most important thing — writing something that was about sex but not salacious and getting the tone right.”
