Pic's to preem at BFI fest

LONDON — Soda Pictures has snapped up U.K. distribution rights to micro-budget “Strawberry Fields,” helmed by Frances Lea.

Pic, which will world preem at the BFI London Film Festival this month, was produced through Film London’s low-budget Microwave Scheme and is the sixth pic to secure U.K. distribution through the scheme.

“Strawberry Fields,” toplining Anna Madeley (“In Bruges”), Christine Bottomley (“The Arbor”) and Emun Elliott (“Game of Thrones”) is a twisted tale of sibling rivalry, sexual awakening and mind games set during a hot English summer.

Lea and Judith Johnson pen the script while Liam Beatty and Lucie Wenigerova produce.

Soda will release the pic in April as part of is New British Cinema Quarterly platform, an initiative that supports and nurtures young British filmmakers.
