It was a nostalgic Thursday night for the folks behind Disney’s “Prom.”
Thesp Kylie Bunbury remembers her high school prom for one very specific detail: “My dress was horrible. We were calling it the sherbet dress. … It was a mix of colors that should never be on my body.” El Capitan preem was followed by a reception in Hollywood High School’s gymnasium done up with the dressings of the film’s prom theme, starry night, complete with star-shaped light fixtures and “celestial fountain.” Producer Justin Springer wanted to make sure “Prom” came rooted in reality. “We did a lot of research,” he said. “We went to a lot of proms.” “Prom” and “Shameless” thesp Cameron Monaghan missed his own prom, but has a second chance coming his way. He recently got invited to the upcoming prom of a close girlfriend.
