Di Bonaventura attached to produce the Mimran Schur Pictures political thriller

EXCLUSIVE: Sony is in talks with Mimran Schur Pictures to partner on political action thriller “Five Against the Bullet,” with Lorenzo di Bonaventura attached as a producer.

Alex Litvak, who wrote the October release “The Three Musketeers,” is penning the script.

Di Bonaventura will produce along with Jordan Schur and David Mimran of Mimran Schur Pictures, where the project originated.

Pic centers on a Mexican politician who, after his father is killed by a drug cartel, hires the five best bodyguards from around the world as part of a political campaign to clean up his area.

Di Bonaventura most recently produced “Transformers: Dark of the Moon,” which has grossed north of $450 million worldwide since its release June 29.

Previous reports have indicated that the project will shoot entirely in the U.S. and Puerto Rico.

Mimran Schur had previously budgeted the pic at $30 to $35 million (Variety, Nov. 2010).

Verve reps Litvak.
