Snider, Bender, Cholodenko feted

UCLA's Festival of New Creative Work hails vision, impact

Stacey Snider, Lawrence Bender and Lisa Cholodenko will be honored at this year’s UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television Festival of New Creative Work.

Snider, an ’85 UCLA Law grad and current CEO of DreamWorks Studios, will receive the Champion Spirit Award, given to industry leaders who mentor emerging talent.

Bender — producer of “Inglourious Basterds,” “Pulp Fiction” and “An Inconvenient Truth” — will receive the PGA Vision Award, given to producers with a notable body of high-quality work.

Cholodenko — writer and director of “The Kids Are Alright” and director on series such as “Hung” and “Six Feet Under” — will receive the Filmmaker of the Year Award, given to filmmakers whose work grasps the human condition and impacts the viewer.
