'Livid,' 'Incident' nab U.K., German deals

MADRID — French company SND-M6 has unveiled strong sales on vampire fantasy “Livid,” led by its licensing U.K. and German-speaking rights to distribs Optimum and Tiberius, respectively.

“Livid” has also been acquired for Australia (Madman), Benelux (Victory), Turkey (Medyavizyon) and Middle-East (Gulf). Deals for Russia, Brazil and Mexico will close shortly, SND reported.

“Livid” is the sophomore feature of French helmer duo Alexandre Bustillo and Julien Maury, whose debut, slasher pic “Inside,” was picked up by the Weinstein Co. for the U.S. and U.K.

SND-M6 is in advanced negotiations on a “Livid” U.S. deal, it said Wednesday.

The Gallic distribution and international sales arm of France’s M6 broadcast network group has also licensed key territories on English-language thriller “The Incident,” helmed by France’s musicvid director Alexandre Courtes.

Koch Media in Germany and Showbox in U.K. have acquired the film, a SND-M6 co-production with Los Angeles-based producer Roy Lee.

“Incident” has also sold to Portugal (Lusomundo) and the Middle-East (Gulf). Further territories — Brazil, Mexico — will close before market end, SND-M6 said.
