Indie drama finds Pucci playing an autistic man searching for a job and a girlfriend, while Green mentors him in his quest for both. Cary Elwes and Kristin Bauer co-star as Pucci’s uncle and aunt.
Alonso Mayo will make his feature directorial debut with the pic, which he also wrote. Project is based on his documentary “Just Like Anyone,” as well as his experiences at his mother’s educational and rehabilitation school in Lima, Peru for people with autism and developmental disabilities. Helmer won a Student Academy Award for his AFI thesis film “Wednesday Afternoon.”
Nina Leidensdorff is producing with Fred Roos and Julien Favre. Production starts this month in Ontario.
Green recently wrapped the indie “Sexy Evil Genius” and is up for three Emmys for his work on “Robot Chicken.”
