Fox Searchlight will unspool “Sound of My Voice,” starring, produced and co-written by Sundance darling Brit Marling, in English-speaking territories including North America, Australia and the U.K.
Searchlight has not yet set a release date.
Helmed by Zal Batmanglij in his directorial debut, “Sound” follows a young Los Angeles couple, played by Christopher Denham and Nicole Vicius, as they infiltrate the world of a cult led by a young woman from the future (played by Marling).
Hans Ritter and Shelley Surpin produced with Marling, who co-wrote the script with Batmanglij.
Marling made an impression at Sundance as a multifaceted talent thanks to her multiple roles in the production of “Sound” and as producer, star and co-writer of “Another Earth,” which Searchlight also acquired at the fest.
Megan O’Brien, Tony Safford and Ray Strache brokered the deal on behalf of Searchlight with Surpin & Mayersohn and UTA (which sold the film and reps Batmanglij). CAA reps Marling.
