Scribe to survey ‘Skyline’

Shields to pen untitled sci-fi adventure

R. Scott Shields has been tapped to pen an untitled sci-fi adventure that will be produced by Colin and Greg Strause, the brothers behind the low-budget f/x breakout “Skyline.”

No distributor is attached yet and it is uncertain whether the brothers would helm.

Plot details are being kept under wraps but sources it would be in a vein similar to “Skyline.”

Liam O’Donnell, who developed the original idea for the story, will produce with the brothers through their Hydraulx Ent.

Hydraulx had served as one of the major VFX houses in Hollywood on such projects as “Wanted” and “Iron Man 2.”

After bringing more than $45 million at box office on “Skyline” when it cost less than half that to make, Hydraulx is looking to amp up its producing credits as well.

Shields recently won the grand prize at Page Intl. Screenwriting Awards for animated comedy “Supercat!” which helped in the decision to bring him on board.

He is repped by Ascend Ent. and Shep Katz Golden Rosenman. The brothers Strause by CAA.
