Scorsese’s ‘Harrison’ joins San Sebastian lineup

Music doc added to fest's Zabaltegi Specials

Martin Scorsese’s music documentary “George Harrison: Living in the Material World,” an HBO pickup, will make its international preem at the 59th San Sebastian Film Festival as part of the Zabaltegi Specials lineup.

The Spanish fest rounded out its Zabaltegi Specials on Tuesday, adding 10 pics to the six titles already announced.

Other highlights include Frederick Wiseman’s doc “Crazy Horse” on the legendary cabaret, and Juan Carlos Rulfo’s “Carriere. 250 metros,” about Jean-Claude Carriere, Luis Bunuel’s regular scribe.

Zabaltegi will also screen Moroccan Leila Kilani’s fiction debut, “On the Plank,” which got the Cinema in Motion award last year, and Dominik Moll’s 18th century-set suspenser “The Monk,” a Spanish-French co-production based on Matthew Lewis’ Gothic novel.

Antoine Delevaux and Joann Sfar’s toon “The Rabbi’s Cat,” and Justin Kurzel’s psychological crime thriller “Snowtown” add diversity to Zabaltegi.

Sidebar also includes three pics from Japan — “The Days After,” Hirokazu Kore-eda’s contribution to pubcaster NHK’s Kaidan Horror Classics series, Noboru Tanaka’s “Watcher in the Attic” and Masaru Konuma’s “Flower and Snake.”

Fest runs Sept. 16-24.
