Committee to be drawn by random sample

The Screen Actors Guild Awards will select on Friday the 4,200 SAG members who will determine the nominees for the 18th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards.

Names will be drawn by random sample, SAG Awards Committee Chair JoBeth Williams announced Thursday.

The SAG Awards’ separate film and television nominating committees, each consisting of 2,100 SAG members from around the country, are randomly selected each year. To be eligible, SAG members may not have served on the same nominating committee in the past five years and must have paid their November 2010 membership dues by March 18.

Nominations will be announced Dec. 15. All active SAG members are eligible to vote for the winners, to be announced at the Shrine Exposition Center in Los Angeles on Jan. 29.
