Rufus Sewell to play villain in ‘Vampire Hunter’

Thesp to play lead vampire in Fox's 'Lincoln'

Exclusive: British thesp Rufus Sewell has landed the role of Adam, the lead vampire villain, in 20th Century Fox’s “Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter.”

Sewell joins Benjamin Walker, Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Dominic Cooper in the Timur Bekmambetov summer tentpole.

Pic, based on the bestselling book by Seth Grahame-Smith, revolves around the president’s quest to rid the world of vampires, presented as the real conflict behind the Civil War.

Bekmambetov will co-produce with Tim Burton and Jim Lemley.

Film, set to be shot in 3D starting in March, is skedded for a June 22, 2012 release.
