Rufus Sewell joins ‘Paradise Lost’

Actor reteams with 'Dark City' helmer

Rufus Sewell is reteaming with his “Dark City” director Alex Proyas, who has cast the English thesp in WB/Legendary’s “Paradise Lost.”

Sewell will play Samael, Lucifer’s partisan who urges him to start the rebellion in Heaven.

Vincent Newman is producing the heavenly-epic via his Vincent Newman Entertainment banner, along with Legendary’s Thomas Tull and Jon Jashni.

The actor joins the a male-dominated ensemble that includes Bradley Cooper, Ben Walker, Casey Affleck, Sam Reid, Djimon Hounsou, as well as Diego Boneta and Camilla Belle, who will play Adam and Eve.

Sewell was last seen in “The Tourist.”
