Ruffalo, Robbins pact for ‘Sharing’

'Kids Are Alright' scribe makes helmer debut

Mark Ruffalo and Tim Robbins will star in indie sex-addict comedy “Thanks for Sharing,” the directorial debut of Stuart Blumberg.

Gilbert Films & Class 5 Films made the announcement Thursday at Cannes. Production will begin in the fall in New York City.

Blumberg, who penned “The Kids Are All Right,” co-wrote the screenplay for “Sharing” with Matt Winston. He’s a partner in Class 5.

Gilbert Films will finance with Gary Gilbert and Jordan Horowitz — producers on “The Kids Are All Right” — will produce for Gilbert Films.

William Migliore and David Koplan will produce for Class 5 Films, with Edward Norton serving as executive producer.

Story’s set around a 12-step program for recovering sex addicts in New York City. The bonds of friendship between these men help them overcome temptation and develop meaningful relationships for the first time in their lives.

Nadine de Barros of Voltage Pictures has acquired all international rights for the film and is launch the film at Cannes. Graham Taylor from WME and Rena Ronson from UTA will sell US rights.

Ruffalo is currently in production on Marvel’s “The Avengers” and Robbins will be seen next in “The Green Lantern.”

Ruffalo’s represented by UTA and Brillstein Entertainment Partners. Robbins is represented by UTA.
