Romantic thriller comes from scribe, producer Kerr

Writer-producer Michael Kerr will make his directorial debut with new film “Napa” — and he’s landed Rose McGowan for the lead.

Kerr, who is financing the production through his self-named shingle, will produce and wrote the script with Hans Ostrom. Latter scribe penned “Three to Get Ready,” the novel on which “Napa” is based.

Story centers around Scarlett Harding (McGowan) who gets a job as sheriff in her hometown of Napa after returning from three military tours of Afghanistan.

Exec producer Ellen Wander will handle worldwide distribution and sales for Napa through Film Bridge Intl.

“Lackawanna Blues” producer Nellie Nugiel will produce along with Kerr.

McGowan recently completed “The Pastor’s Wife” where she portrayed Mary Winkler, the real-life preacher’s wife who murdered her husband in 2006.
