Julianne Hough and Jason Momoa’s arrivals as leading thesps come from very different directions.
Trained since childhood as a dancer with a five-year scholarship in London, Hough has seen her film career spark since she scored with “Dancing With the Stars.” Following her feature debut in “Burlesque,” the 22-year-old stars in the updated “Footloose” and will next co-star with Tom Cruise and Russell Brand in “Rock of Ages.”
“It’s crazy, it’s unbelievable. It’s cliche to say ‘It’s a dream come true’ — you can’t ever dream something like this. What is the saying,” Hough continues, “luck comes with preparation? I’ve always planned my life for what I want to do but you can never plan these things.”
For Hawaiian-born Momoa, 31, starring in a remake of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s “Conan” has taken “just 12 years” of steady work, including “Baywatch” and “Stargate: Atlantis.”
“I was thinking yesterday I’ve always done TV and wanted to do movies,” Momoa says. “Having this as my first lead was heavy. I was stepping into some really big shoes and working nonstop. It was exhausting and fun.”
Hough is repped by CAA, while APA reps Momoa.
